PRESIDENT'S THOUGHTS

It's human to worry about the known and the unknown.
The only thing that puts our mind to rest is certainty, and because life is full of uncertainties, there is always a lot to worry about.
But the act of worrying can be curtailed and stopped with discipline and proper understanding.
Understanding of the truth that worrying does no good and that when we worry, we are actually acting against the possibility of experiencing a positive outcome to whatever we worry about.
What this means is that when you worry, you're inviting and attracting negative forces to bring to pass what you fear.
Instead of worrying, have faith. That is a winner anytime, any day.
Life is to be enjoyed and not to be endured!

HOSEI YOUTH SPEAKS; INDISCIPLINE AMONG THE YOUTHS

There is no doubt that there is no general discipline among youths in our society. Indiscipline has reached a frightening proportion. The youth disrespect the elders and one often hears of students beating up their teachers.

The causes of indiscipline are not far fetched. Indiscipline starts when youths begin to disrespect their parents which may happen when parents neglect proper upbringing of their children. From there, they grow to disobeying constituted authority. Some parents go out early in the morning and return late at night, drunk. They exhibit many bad characters not worthy of emulation. Therefore, the home contributes manly to indiscipline in our society.

PRESIDENT'S THOUGHTS

I have come to discover that sometimes, we miss opportunities not because we are lazy or unqualified, but because we have not taken time to know what we want.
Do you know what you want? Concerning that issue that bothers you, have you decided on what you desire?
Please do. Then take action to effect it.

Life is to be enjoyed and not to be endured!

HOSEI BITS

Happy is the person that understands that love gives freedom to choose and to be. Anything contrary to this is not love.

Life is to be enjoyed and not to be endured!

HOSEI YOUTH SPEAKS; IT DEPENDS ON YOU

Life is said to be a place where we face trials, torments and also a place where we face reality. But to me life, is just like a video game: you loose or you win. Most times I sit down and meditate so much about what life is to everybody. Some people were born with a sliver spoon, some were born with a clay spoon, while some were born without any spoon. In some cases life does not offers us what we desire but only gives us what we decide for ourselves.

HOSEI YOUTH SPEAKS; VANDALIZATION OF PUBLIC FACILITIES AND ITS' EFFECTS

Vandalization of public facilities is an act of destroying government properties whenever there is a crises. Vandalization is caused by several reasons such as; government's insensitivity to people's security, civil unrest in the society e.g Boko Haram, strike actions e.g increase in fuel price, e.t.c.

Vandalization has several effects such as a dent on the image of the country, loss of lives and wastage of people's tax.

Solution
Government should enlighten its citizens about the effect of vandalization through the mass media so as to put a stop to it.

HOSEI YOUTH SPEAKS; NATURE OF THE NIGHT

I looked amazingly at the cloud, in the deepest sight of the night where the breeze blows unto earth's surface. Then I saw the waves dancing in the breeze, the breeze that makes man freeze. I looked upon the sky and saw the stars as they shone, they flashed upon my eyes. And I think of man on his own bed sleeping at the peak of the moonlight.

HOSEI YOUTH SPEAKS; FORGIVENESS, NOT REVENGE, WILL SET YOU FREE

The stupid neither forgive nor forget, the naive forgive but do not forget, the wise forgive and forget. Forgiveness is the characteristics of the strong, it really takes a lot of strength to forgive and to let go of the hurt. The alternative to forgiving is vengeance but it will not help you to reduce the pain.

Revenge, to me, is simply not the right way to let go of the emotional baggage I carry around when someone hurts me. In the end, the realization prevails that there is no difference between you and the person that hurt you, if you opt for revenge. The process of forgiving is essential to let go of the hurt. Forgiveness can set you free. It can help you in releasing the built up resentment and the emotional baggage you carry around. Life is  short to waste your time on hatred.

Life is to be enjoyed, not to be endured!

HOSEI YOUTH SPEAKS: HAPPINESS COMES FROM WITHIN

People are just about as happy as they make up their minds to be. No one is in charge of your happiness but you. No one has the responsibility to make you happy. It is a very common misconception to believe things that lie outside of ourselves can make us happy. If you ask an unhappy person what it would take to make them happy, they will most likely enumerate the many (material) things that lie beyond their grasp. What they do not realize is the profound wisdom that true happiness comes from within.

Life is to be enjoyed and not to be endured!

PRESIDENT'S THOUGHTS; DIFFERENT, NOT INFERIOR

A girl-child grows up loved and pampered by everyone around her but with the consciousness of being treated as inferior to her male counterparts by people. A lot is invested in her physically, financially, materially and emotionally by her loved ones and the society at large, in making her a responsible but handicapped Individual.

Handicapped by the double standards imposed on the two sexes, male and female by the patriarchal mentality in everyone that surrounds her.

HOSEI YOUTH SPEAKS; MOTHER

Apart from bringing  forth children, a mother also has to cater for their  emotional welfare. She plays a vital role in helping a child  learn  about love and affection. Mother is often a principled teacher. It is mainly the mother or the grandmother who patiently teach the child to speak, to do household  chores and countless other things. Little wonder then, that one's language the world over is referred  to as one's mother tongue  rather than father tongue. I cherish women like my mother and all caring women out there.

Life is to be enjoyed and not to be endured!

HOSEI YOUTH SPEAKS; LIFE

Life is in faces, different issues and challenges, different situations and obstacles, different experience and feelings.

Life is full of ups and downs, left and right, front and back with different stages of circumstances and occurrences.

Life and its numerous cases, different kinds of people with different characters, visions, dreams, passions and ambitions.

LOVE YOURSELF FIRST

Love is not weak. Perfect love casts away fear. If we are afraid to speak out when a loved one is in the wrong or doing things that can destroy the love between us and the loved one or among the family as a whole, it means we do not love ourselves, neither do we truly love that loved one. It means we do not have a healthy sense of worth and value of ourselves. It’s an indication that instead of walking in love as we should, we are indeed walking in fear. Fear of losing that loved one’s love. Fear of rejection, of neglect, of retaliation etc.

And the more we walk in that fear, the farther true love eludes us. For whatever we fear shall come upon us. We hold ourselves as captives in relationships that were ordained to give us pure love and joy when we fail to act in love and do the right thing. Then after a while, we convince ourselves that the misfortune we suffer is destined by God for us.

YOUR WORK SHOULD NOT BE A STRUGGLE

Our feelings about the work that we do and how we carry out our professional duties goes a long way in determining whether we are in the right profession/work place or not. Young or old, as long as you are not in school and you are not retired, you are mandated to work to earn a living.

Officially and unofficially, we all engage in one activity or the other that gives us our daily bread. Even the so-called house-wives have to take care of the household and the children; which qualifies as work also.
Now that I have established the fact that we all work in one way or the other, I will like to establish the fact that for our work to give us the satisfaction we need to flourish as human beings, we must love what we do and where we do it.

A lot of us think work is to be done mechanically since it is meant to be a “Labour” and we are “Labourers”. We think it is not possible or necessary to link the work that we do and our personal enjoyment together. Our mentality is that work and enjoyment are not related and that we can experience one and not the other at the same time.

There is no truth in this assumption.
