Happy new year friends! The new year 2016 has finally come. Twelve months of daily blank cheques to be filled with our expectations, beliefs, hopes, aspirations, decisions, determination, relationships and so on. I encourage us to take responsibility for the year and all we desire to happen in it. While we trust God to answer our prayers and meet us at the point of our needs, nothing can be done in our lives without our consent, agreement and active participation. No matter how much God loves us, and believe me, He does, so very much, He will not force His blessings and help on us except we ask and accept them.
We have made ourselves incapacitated by culture, religion and wrong doctrines so much that we have totally neglected to be responsible for our own lives. Leaving our lives to the control of other people and chance is not the way to live a healthy life. While it's okay to respect the wishes and opinions of loved ones and people generally, we are supposed to have the final say over our lives. What we want matters. What we think counts. And if our lives are not reflecting our wants, and thoughts, and beliefs, and convictions, then there is a problem. No one like that can be truly at peace and fulfilled. And no matter how long we blame others for our unhappiness, we are to be blamed for it. For we are our primary responsibility.
2016 is another chance to start afresh and make healthy choices. A chance to be who we want to be, live the life we want to live, have healthy relationships/marriage, a fulfilling career, make peace with our past, venture into new adventures, make new friends, travel to places, learn new skills, serve humanity by volunteering with non governmental organisations or any other appealing ways, rediscover yourself and so on. There is so much that can be done, achieved and experienced in this new year. We must, however, keep in mind that for anything to be in our lives, it is left to us to make it be. It's on you, please always remind yourself of this truth.
If you want a new job, it's on you. You want a new apartment, it's on you. You want to make new friends, it's on you. You want more money, it's on you. You want a wife/husband, it's on you. You want a child, it's on you. You want a better life/marriage, it's on you. You want to enjoy peace, health, happiness, etc, it is on you!
When you say yes, everyone and everything will agree with you. Lets stop expecting help from without. All the help we need is within. It's when we help ourselves, that others will be able to help us.
2016 shall be a wonderful, peaceful, fabulous, awesome, eventful, happy, prosperous, fulfilling and blessed year for you. Believe it, work it, talk it, do it and be it.
Life is to be enjoyed and not to be endured!
